Garden of Life Teams Up with Best-Selling Author Robyn O’Brien to Celebrate Non-GMO Month and the Importance of Clean Nutrition

Oct. 9, 2017 – Garden of Life®, the leader and innovator in Non-GMO Project Verified and Certified USDA Organic nutritional products, is creating a pop-up “garden experience” in the heart of New York City tomorrow, in honor of Non-GMO Month, which is celebrated annually in October. Teaming up with best-selling author Robyn O’Brien – an expert around clean eating and an advocate for non-GMO and organic foods and supplements – the company will host a free, one-day experiential event in Washington Square Park (exact location is Garibaldi Plaza, on the eastern side of the park), from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. At the event, O’Brien will help distribute samples of Garden of Life’s Raw Organic Protein & greens™, a Non-GMO Project Verified and USDA Organic protein powder that makes it easy to incorporate nutrient-dense greens into a daily diet. Pop-up “garden experience” visitors also will receive shaker bottles and either water or almond milk for mixing a beverage on the spot.

Non-GMO Month: What it is and why it matters
Non-GMO Month is celebrated by the Non-GMO Project, North America’s premier third-party verification program for non-GMO ingredients. The nonprofit organization helps to preserve a non-GMO food supply and give consumers an informed choice, ensuring that they have access to safe, healthy food.

O’Brien, whose best-selling first book “The Unhealthy Truth” provides a road map for healthy living, will be on hand at Garden of Life’s event to help educate consumers about incorporating non-GMO and organic nutrition into their daily lives.

A former financial analyst covering the food industry, O’Brien became an advocate for non-GMO and certified organic nutrition after her youngest child suffered a severe food allergic reaction. Called “food’s Erin Brockovich” by Bloomberg and The New York Times, she set out to understand why so many American children have food allergies, and has helped lead a food awakening among consumers, corporations and political leaders for over a decade.
