BrandStar Gives Back to Help Children in Need for New School Year

Aug. 10, 2017 – Full-service brand marketing agency BrandStar has proudly partnered with Touch A Heart Foundation this year for its first annual Backpack and School Supplies Drive that benefits 4KIDS of South Florida, which has been committed to providing a home for every child since 1997.

A new school year can be a difficult transition for any child, especially for those who lack access to the most basic supplies such as clothing, writing utensils, notebooks and more. BrandStar and Touch A Heart are helping prepare needy children to reach their fullest potential. Touch A Heart worked with three local agencies, including 4KIDS of South Florida, to assist local children with the greatest need, mainly foster children, and sponsor their back-to-school necessities.

To help with the supplies drive, BrandStar employees shopped for essential age-appropriate back-to-school items for each child assigned to them, and then brought their supplies to BrandStar headquarters and formed a backpack assembly line, stuffing each student’s backpack with their own set of supplies and a personal note of encouragement.

On Saturday, August 5, BrandStar took part in Family Fun Day at Christian Life Center in Fort Lauderdale, helping to distribute the backpacks to the children, serving lunch and assisting with table service.

“We are delighted to be able to contribute to a worthy cause like Touch A Heart’s Backpack and School Supplies Drive,” said Mark Alfieri, CEO of BrandStar. “Our team—and their families—benefit immensely from having the opportunity to give to children who might not otherwise have the necessary supplies to start the school year.”

Touch A Heart Foundation provides help and offers hope to local children suffering from poverty, abuse, neglect and illness. The organization’s goal is to make a personal connection with all the children and families they help, enriching the lives of everyone involved.

“We were so fortunate that BrandStar supported our efforts this year, more than doubling the number of children we planned to sponsor for our first annual Backpack and School Supplies Drive,” said Jennifer Kaufman, Executive Director of Touch A Heart Foundation.
