March 29, 2017 – A groundbreaking ceremony took place yesterday, March 28, at the new LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE in Daytona Beach, FL presented by Minto Communities and Margaritaville Holdings. The event was presented in true Margaritaville fashion with a steel drum band, tropical refreshments and colorful island touches. A large contingent of local community leaders joined with Minto and Margaritaville representatives to kick start development of the first LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE active adult community.
In February, Margaritaville Holdings and Minto Communities announced a partnership to develop new active adult communities inspired by the Margaritaville lifestyle in some of the nation’s most popular destinations. LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE in Daytona Beach, FL is the first of these new communities, which is designed specifically for those 55+ who are seeking a uniquely fun and relaxed lifestyle experience.
According to Minto Senior Vice President William Bullock, “The groundbreaking of this exciting new community marks the opportunity to redefine active adult living, focusing on the Margaritaville lifestyle of food, fun and music. Latitude Margaritaville will be a major stimulant to the local Daytona Beach economy and to the regional homebuilding industry, at large, generating significant employment during construction and continuing long after completion.”
Minto purchased the 1,600-acre property for the first phase of LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE in Daytona Beach, FL from Consolidated-Tomoka Land Company, closing on the sale in February. The sales center is now under construction and slated to open this fall. The initial launch of LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE in Daytona Beach, FL will include more than 3,000 homes with a future proposed expansion of up to 7,000 homes. A wide range of home designs and floor plans will be offered with prices starting in the very low $200ks.
LATITUDE MARGARITAVILLE, with its authentic “no worries” tropical vibe, will offer amenities that are on a par with the world’s finest luxury resorts. Current plans call for walkable neighborhoods and a Town Center featuring a fitness center with an aerobics studio, indoor lap pool, spa, and group fitness classes; indoor and outdoor dining with signature Margaritaville food and beverage concepts, as well as others; arts and learning programs for residents and guests, and a resort pool area with beach entry. Music will play an important part in the community, with a band shell for live entertainment in the Town Center. A private beachfront club with breathtaking views and beachfront amenities will be set on the Atlantic Ocean, and a continuous loop shuttle service from the community to the beach club will be available to residents.
