CSX Named a Top Military Friendly Employer for Eighth Consecutive Year

csx-fullCSX was named a 2017 Military Friendly® Employer by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs®, STEM Jobs and Military Spouse magazines. This is the eighth consecutive year that CSX has been recognized on the list.

“Military veterans are a vital part CSX’s success, contributing the critical qualities of ensuring safety and customer focus while delivering compelling results,” said Diana Sorfleet, Vice President, Chief Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer at CSX. “We are incredibly proud that nearly one in five CSX employees has defended and protected our nation, and CSX is committed to providing veterans with meaningful work and the resources to realize their career goals.”

The recognition is confirmation of the company’s culture and longstanding commitment to employing veterans, National Guard and Reservists. CSX prides itself in attracting, developing and retaining a diverse workforce, including veterans, who possess the critical skills and experience to help the company achieve its vision to be the safest, most progressive North American railroad, relentless in the pursuit of customer and employee excellence.

Victory Media’s Military Friendly® list, which has been published since 2003, rates company practices across six categories: hiring and onboarding; opportunity and advancement; culture and commitment; support and retention; and, policies and compliance.

This year, CSX received high scores for support and retention, with specific attention paid to the Military Affinity Group, one of CSX’s Business Resource Groups with a focus on providing support for local military events and functions. CSX also supports National Guard and Reserve members with time off and support for families.
